In this class, we will explore critical thinking, skepticism, requirements for evidence to support bold or radical ideas, and the negative consequences of pseudoscience. We will examine a range of archaeological – or pseudoarchaeological – case studies. These case studies will improve overall knowledge of world archaeology as well as providing examples to practice critical thinking and the identification of non-scientific interpretations in archaeology.
